What We Believe

What We Believe

Waterbrooke's mission is to develop and maintain a Christ-centered, bible-based fellowship where the people of Victoria and surrounding communities can personally and fully experience God through a transformational relationship with His son, Jesus. We do this by celebrating God's presence and power, communicating His Word and way, and demonstrating His love and grace.

We passionately desire all to receive the free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Who We Are

We are Bible-centered.

God’s Word is our central (and only) guide in all that we are as individuals and as a church. We believe the truth of Scripture will change lives, making us more like Christ as we learn and apply it daily.

The Holy Spirit empowers us.

The Holy Spirit is the power source that transforms our lives and our church. Things done apart from the Spirit’s leading and power will be futile.

We reach out to others.

We seek to introduce others to Jesus Christ as He is purely and simply The Hope of the World. We do so fervently, yet gracefully, sharing His love in our lost and broken world.

Prayer is essential.

Through prayer we talk to and listen to the awesome God of the universe. It is both a lofty privilege and a source of wisdom and power. Every aspect of our lives must bathed in prayer.

We serve others.

Jesus, who was a King, chose to become a servant on our behalf. This sets the highest standard of serving, which we endeavor to follow in our everyday attitudes and actions.

We adore our God.

God is good all the time and all the time, God is good. That's why we reverently honor and celebrate Him together. Our worship is expressed joyfully, creatively and passionately.

We reflect God's love.

Because Christ first loved us, we must love others. His love must permeate every aspect of our relationships and church life as its transforming power changes us.

We are givers.

We must be wise and responsible stewards of all that God has entrusted to us. We cannot "out-give" God so we must be willing to use His resources for the good of others and His ever-expanding work.

We are all ministers.

Believing that all are gifted by the Holy Spirit for God’s work, we seek to create an environment that encourages everyone to use their gifts, benefiting both them selves and others.
