Sermon March 29th ~ Palm Sunday
This Sunday is what is traditionally called Palm Sunday, celebrating Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into the city of Jerusalem for the final time. It is the beginning of what we now refer to as the Passion Week. Each day of this week finds Jesus teaching, performing Miracles, taking the Passover Meal with his Disciples in the Upper Room, being betrayed by Judas, praying in The Garden of Gethsemane one last time before the soldiers come for Him, and then of course, His crucifixion on Friday. Dead and buried but the Tomb could not hold Him and His Resurrection that Sunday morning provides the basis for our faith. How things changed from His Triumphal Entry on Palm Sunday with the Shouts of Hosanna to the cries of Crucify Him on Friday. There were at least four identifiable groups that were present at His entry into the city. Each group, however, saw it with very different eyes, there thoughts and ideas about who Jesus was varied considerably. We’ll look at them together as I believe the same groups are with us today.
