The question that always comes to my mind and perhaps yours, is what happened between Sunday and Friday? How did it go from Hosanna, Hosanna to Crucify, Crucify? I want to look at Palm Sunday and this question in light of the subject matter we began last week, that of Worship. If it can happen to the people 2000 years ago, can it happen to you and I? What are the factors that can cause Worship to wane? The Biblical account of His entry into Jerusalem is recorded in all four Gospels (one of only a few such events). Read all four and ask yourself what happened? How did it go so badly so quickly? We’ll talk about it In this sermon.

There is a line from a hymn that says it well; “To God be the glory, great things He Has done!”

This Sunday, Gail Berger of the Blessing House Ministries will facilitate our time together and we will explore the experience of feeling the Father’s love as if He were directly speaking to us. Have you ever wondered what face time would look or sound like with the Father? Imagine the power of sitting in His presence, hearing His voice, feeling His Heartbeat, seeing His perspective. We are His beloved children, and He wants us to “taste and see that the Lord is good.” Come for a time of spiritual refreshment this Sunday!

This prayer of Jesus (John 17: 1-26), is the longest prayer that Jesus prayed which is recorded in the Gospels. In it, He prays for Himself, for the Disciples present with Him and then for future believers (that includes us). It culminates His teaching in John’s Gospel. Themes include God’s glory, the cross, protection for the Disciples and unity for all followers both then and now. We are able to listen in on Jesus as He passionately addresses His Father one final time. This alone makes this prayer extraordinary. Read this prayer over several times and see what stands out to you. We’ll discuss it together on Sunday.

This week as we continue our study of John’s Gospel, we will look at verses 9-17 of the 15th chapter. Following Jesus teaching on “Abiding”, He calls the Disciples to love one another as He has loved them. He also links Loving and Obeying with Abiding. Look at these few verses and see what you think the relationship is between “Abiding”, Loving and Obeying. We are called to do all three, but how do they mesh together in in our everyday lives in light of what we’ve learned about the Holy Spirit? We’ll study together on Sunday.
